What is Elastibond adhesive used for?

Is Elastibond safe to use on skin or the scalp?

No. Elastibond is not recommended for scalp application or contact with the client's skin. Apply it to the point of fusion only and follow the safety warning on the label. For scalp attachment, see our tapes and check each product's directions.

Can I use Elastibond at home, or is it professional only?

Elastibond is for professional use only. Cyanoacrylates cure within seconds, which leaves little room to reposition, so a trained stylist should apply it. If you are attaching a unit yourself, a tape is usually the easier option.

How do I remove Elastibond or clean up residue?

Cyanoacrylate bonds are not meant to be pulled apart. Have a professional release the bond and clean off residue with an adhesive remover from our Removers and Cleansers, keeping solvents away from the scalp and skin.
