Scalp Preparation

How to prepare the scalp for applying the hair unit

A proper scalp prep is the foundation for a clean, secure, and long-lasting hair system bond. In this routine, Ricky Knowles demonstrates a professional three-step process to remove buildup and residue, thoroughly cleanse and degrease the scalp, and create an ideal surface for application.

Step 1 – Extreme Release:

Begin with Extreme Release Step 1, a professional scalp cleanser and residue remover designed to deeply cleanse the scalp while removing most types of existing bond residue. By eliminating buildup and impurities, it helps refresh, purify, and balance the scalp while creating an ideal foundation for a secure, long-lasting bond.

Step 2 – Cleanse Plus & Micro-Cleanse:

Next, use the Cleanse Plus two-step cleaning process to further exfoliate and cleanse the scalp. Micro-Cleanse uses biodegradable micro scrubbers to safely remove remaining bond residue, oil, and scalp debris while helping to thoroughly degrease the treated area. This step leaves the scalp clean and prepared for the next stage.

Step 3 – Extreme Release Protection:

Finish with Extreme Release Protection Step 3, an antibacterial scalp sealer formulated to protect and soothe the scalp while creating a clean barrier. The formula helps prevent the release of deep-seated sebum and grime, leaving the treated area dry, clean, and sealed. Tea tree and peppermint help deodorize the scalp and control bacterial growth, helping minimize odor and maintain a clean scalp environment.

Together, these steps provide a thorough scalp preparation routine designed to create a clean, dry, and properly prepared surface for hair system application—helping support a secure, comfortable, and reliable bond.
